One can focus its environments on cities and other ones can focus more in the nature. One can be more about samurais and other more about ninjas. One can be more realistic and historically accurate while other can be more fantasy oriented with more magical stuff.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is not in direct competition with Mafia 1 remake and its funny cause those 2 games are not only closer in date then the games we are talking about, they conceptually support more ideas then the games we are talking about regarding outlaws, robbing, killing, being a villain of sorts, anti-hero etc. So I think all 3 games have their place and being set in Japan doesn't automatically mean they are in competition. They are separated by hundreds upon hundreds of years, I'm sure the gameplay and other core elements will reflect that and that even AC Red has its place as its actually about Ninja and not Samurai (though I'm sure they'll be in it lol)
We are talking about almost a 600 year difference.this would be like playing Red Dead Redemption and loving it, then hearing about RDR2 and being hype and then hearing about a game set in America during 1400s about war between Native American tribes and think that this ideas are comparable and direct competition. Thats like saying 2 games will be alike cause they are based in America as if THAT is all one needs to know or something lol One of them is set in the Bakumatsu period (ba ku ma tsu) around 1850s
Tbh, we don't even know how similar theses games are going to be, all we know are both take place in japan.
